About the Water Industry Commission for Scotland

The Water Industry Commission for Scotland is the economic regulator of the water and sewerage industry in Scotland. Its mission is to promote the interests of customers in Scotland by making sure that they receive high quality services and value for money. It does this by setting prices for water and sewerage services, facilitating competition and monitoring performance.

The Commission is at the cutting edge of economic regulation: it oversaw the introduction of retail competition for services to business customers and the public sector. This world first has changed the nature of the relationship between customers and their suppliers and is bringing more tailored services and lower bills. It is now engaged in a root and branch review of the method for the next price setting and an initiative to export its expertise outside the UK.

Our roles are interesting and diverse, suitable for a recent graduate with a good degree.
